About Council
Sikkim Science & Technology Council is an autonomous body,
a registered society, under the Societies registration Act, 1860. The
Council was constituted in 1996 to advise the State Govt. on policies
and measures for promoting S & T in the State and to implement the
policies & plans of the State Govt. more effectively and to utilize
the funds received from various Central & State Govt. agencies. Prior
to that , Sikkim Science Society was mobilizing few S&T activities at
State level. The secretariat infrastructure for the council was
provided in 1997. The council has been registered as an
autonomous body in 1997. |

Department
of Science and Technology has started two project S&T Mapping in Office
itself and Bio-farm in RoreThang, East Sikkim under Sikkim State Council
of Science and Technology.
